TEEN CHALLENGE PERU:
As of this summer the head A/G US missionary on the field in Peru, John Fransisco, has established the corporation of Teen Challenge in Peru. John, along with the 16 other board members are in the process of making Teen Challenge Peru a charitable organization (ONG) in accordance with Peruvian laws.
Though Teen Challenge exists on paper, IT DOES NOT have a center anywhere in Peru and IT IS NOT a FULLY functional program.
When we arrive in Peru in 2012, Aracelli and I will begin work in establishing the center from the ground up! It is the desire of the Teen Challenge board and Teen Challenge global that Oswaldo Medina (a local pastor in Peru working with addicts in Villa El Salvador) would some day head up the efforts of Teen Challenge Peru. In the meantime he has been trained and is beginning to implement Teen Challenge teachings and principles right there in Villa El Salvador.
Aracelli and I must arrive in Peru by March of 2012 in order to head up many of the efforts of Teen Challenge Peru and to help create a greater awareness of TC Peru, accelerate the outreach efforts and to eventually open a residential center for those worst case scenarios.
Our term is expected to last from 2-3 years depending on the amount of training necessary to raise up the Teen Challenge Center and the associates who will be working there.
We are in need of approximately $4,200 monthly to do the work we are called to do in Peru. We still need to raise $1,500 in monthly support! Along with this we will continue to carry the burden of $1,500 monthly for our school in Trujillo, Peru.
THE GREAT NEWS? We have already obtained our entire cash budget!! This means that if you donate any amount as a one-time offering it will count towards our monthly commitments and help us to arrive on time in Peru!.
